RED DOT AWARDING CEREMONY

Client: Red Dot Design Singapore

This is our 3rd year on board the Red Dot Awards and covering the event. This year, we introduced gimbals into the video. The award ceremony is very unpredictable, winners go up on stage and they might burst out into a show on their own. There's not time to blink, look away or rest. The challenge each year is to create a video that is better and different from the previous'. We are thankful to Red Dot Design for trusting us each time and their continuous support. The big question now is, what's next for the next one. :)

Our client since 2015. Thank you for trusting us with the coverage of this annual event.

A BEautiful day

Agency : TMRRW
Client: Housing Development Board (HDB), Singapore

Honoured to be able to work on this short film with TMMRW. A short film commissioned by Housing & Development Board based on the 50 places contributed by Singaporeans for the SG Heart Map Festival. Shot over the span of 3 months, A Beautiful Day is a journey that traces the progress of the Singapore story. Visually the film narrates the passing of the day, with corresponding shapes of each landmark moving through space in a single point perspective. It was first shown as a 360 degrees dome projection at The Float at Marina Bay for the SG Heart Map Festival. In this film, we used a mix of visual techniques/equipment including but not limited to, slow-motion, static timelapse, motion timelapse, automated kessler crane shuttlepod etc Credits Client : Housing & Development Board Director: William Chan (from TMRRW) Producer: Charmaine Yap (Tripeaksimagery) DOP: Yeo Wee Han (Tripeaksimagery) Music : Nick Chan Editor : Matthew Koch Production Assistants. : Quinn Lum, Russell Chan & Lenney Leong Production Studio : TMRRW

IGS CONVOCATION VIDEO - pIONEER BATCH

Client: Nanyang Technological University, Interdisciplinary Graduate School

We have been shooting a couple of events (both photography and videography) for NTU's Interdisciplinary Graduate School. When shooting and covering events, we prefer to treat each video like a film that expresses. We zoom in on the smaller things that feel, such as expressions, hands, items and anything that brings about the cinema of the event. It's clients like these that provide us full creative freedom and allow us to explore the best with what we are given. During the initial brief, we were told that this is the pioneering batch of graduates from IGS and they would like us to cover this moment. We brought the simple request back, and decided that this moment is one that leaves a mark in NTU IGS' history. It is not just an event coverage, it's a record of history. We thought about the tone of the video and decided on momentous as the theme. With that, we decided on using a high-speed camera in conjunction with the usual cameras. We had recently acquired a drone too, so we threw that in for our client as a form of appreciation. We knew that this surprise addition will make them really excited and boy, were they! The students had an enjoyable time too. Director: Charmaine Yap Director of Photography/ Drone Pilot: Yeo Wee Han Camera Op: Lenny Leong Editor/Graphics: Charmaine Yap Colourist: Lenney Leong

Red dot awards - Jury insights

Client: Red Dot Design Museum

This year, Red Dot Design came to us with another video (on top of the usual awarding ceremony) request. It was a video that features what the jury has to say about the entries and the judging process. This was a very tricky situation for us, to cut the long story short, we have to work with really little footage and re-work the storyboard after filming. The silver lining of this project is the realisation that this idea works better than the initial pitch. And if all that had happened, didn't happened, this video will not have turned out this way. SUSTAINABLE EARTH PEAK LAUNCH

Client: Nanyang Technological University Sustainable Earth Office

The first project that NTU Sustainable Earth Office gave us , was to produce a video on Sustainability. The first proposal we pitched led us into a 45min long lesson on what Sustainability really is. Back then, 5 years ago, and young, we thought that Sustainability had to do only with the environment and climate. It turns out that Sustainability is about people, society, amenities, not just about the environment. Since then, Charmaine read up as much as possible about the subject and use these background knowledge to manage all visual content of theirs. When working with clients, we do not just think about what looks good, but also how we can convey the message that fits their branding. The target audience, the expected results from this project and we work towards creating a product that helps the company. Effectiveness is as important as beauty.
