Portfolios: Equine

I have been a horse racing photographer for more than 7 years. The excitement that lingers in the air is still ever present and each time the horses come by my camera, the heart seems to pound a few extra beats.

Mark Gallagher awaits the bell, the signal for him to mount his horse and head for the track.

An assistant trainer helps the syce in bringing the horse around the parade ring.

One of the rare shots I have from the rear and yes, also one of the few where the horseshoes are clearly seen.

An ultra wide angle on the ground, fired via radio was needed for this shot to materialize.

The last 400 metres is where the horses are put out on a full charge.

One of the world's top horses, much hope will be pinned on Rocket Man to take out the Krisflyer Trophy in May 2010.
